Version history
Every release, newest first, in the same words that go into the App Store. Updates reach you through the App Store on their own; there is nothing to do in the app.
1.0.4
Fixes from a full review of the code, a place for your notes, a status filter and a way to delete logged time.
- Filter the matrix by status as well as by area. A second menu beside All areas shows only To do, In progress or Blocked, and one tap clears both.
- Delete a session you logged. Focus now has a Logged time list: swipe a session left to remove it, with Undo. A deletion also carries over when you Merge another phone’s export.
- Delete an area is a clear button at the bottom of its editor.
- Notes. Every task has a Notes field under its steps. Notes you brought in with Import were saved but hidden; now you can read and change them, and they go along to the calendar copy.
- Moving to a new phone with Import and Merge keeps your life areas’ targets, colors and emoji. The Import sheet says how many areas the file will update.
- Merging between two phones no longer drops an edit made on the other phone after you only reordered a task or copied it to a calendar.
- A custom focus length with seconds, like 4:10, shows a clean clock and ends on time.
- Choosing a new emoji for a life area replaces the old one, and emoji made of several parts, like a runner with a skin tone, stay whole.
- Exports are named with the day, so a folder of backups shows which is newest. Saving a shared image to Photos works.
- Smaller fixes: a silent phone no longer rings the lock-screen alarm when Sound is off, a finished session shows its own length, Log time stamps time as just ended, the date picker opens on the block’s month, a repeat can’t end before it starts, the matrix’s blocks left stay current, the intro replay reads in dark mode, and VoiceOver can read steps and the matrix toggle.
1.0.3
A new first run, a free week of Pro, text that follows your iPhone’s text size, and fixes from a careful review of the whole app.
- A new first run. Type what is on your mind, answer two questions and watch it land in its box, give it an hour later today, and see where focused time goes. The intro is three short screens now, and the Eisenhour clock comes alive on the way in.
- Try all of Pro free for 7 days, from the Pro screen or at the end of the intro. No charge and nothing to cancel; afterwards Eisenhour goes back to the free version and keeps everything you made.
- Larger Text from iOS Settings now fits every screen, up to the largest standard size, without cutting words or pushing buttons off the edge.
- After a few days of real use, Eisenhour asks for a rating once, with Apple’s own sheet. It won’t ask again in this version.
- A task’s steps can hide the ones you have ticked: Hide done, at the top of Steps, keeps a long list down to what is left. It remembers your choice.
- Two new rows in More: Rate Eisenhour, whenever you feel like it, and Send feedback, which opens the board at eisenhour.app/feedback for ideas and bugs.
- The Pro screen leads with the feature you tapped, puts the App Store price on its button, and has Restore at the top left.
- All-day events, like holidays and birthdays, now show in a strip at the top of the calendar.
- Deleting a task always removes its calendar copy, Pro comes back by itself after a reinstall, and a focus session that ended while you were away is logged without a second chime.
- Smaller fixes to Import’s Merge, the calendar at midnight, holding a block without moving it, and the heatmap’s month labels. A custom focus length is now at least a minute.
1.0.2
The small things a week of real use asked for, and the first review. Submitted at 8:22 in the morning, approved and out the same day.
- Block reminders. A notification when a time block starts, or 5, 15 or any number of minutes before. Off by default; switch it on in More.
- Add a task straight into a quadrant. Every list has a field at the top, and a long press on a quadrant tile opens it ready to type.
- Swipe right on a task to mark it done. The title strikes itself through, and the same Undo pill puts it back. More has a setting to swap the two swipes.
- A morning line on the matrix for yesterday's unfinished blocks: move them to today, or let them go.
- Finished blocks step back on the calendar so the eye lands on what is still ahead.
- Share today’s matrix as an image or a PDF from the share mark on the matrix, and share any task the same way from its own Share.
- Start a focus session from a task at 10, 25, 60 or any number of minutes. The pomodoro estimate is gone; finished sessions still count.
- Tasks keep one order, oldest at the top, newest at the bottom, including everything you imported. Any hand ordering from 1.0.1 is reset once by this update.
- The area editor says what its two targets do: hours for the weekly balance, sessions for the streak.
- Import shows what a file would change before it touches anything, and can merge with what is on the phone instead of replacing it. Export says what it wrote.
- What's new and what's next, inside the app, under More.
1.0.1
The first update, out the same day as 1.0, and most of it came from using the app on a real phone. If you installed 1.0, the App Store brings you this on its own.
- Swipe left on a task to delete it, in the Inbox, the quadrant lists and the expanded matrix. A small Undo appears for five seconds and counts down, so a slip is one tap away from fixed.
- Time blocks drag in every calendar view now, including sideways across days in the 3-day and week views. One gesture moves a block to Wednesday at 2:30.
- The week can start on Sunday. It follows your region by default, and More has a Sun / Mon switch that flips the calendar, the month grids, the focus heatmap and the weekly balance together.
- Finish on a running focus session now tells you what it logged, and asks first if the session is under a minute.
- Edits you make right before closing a task are kept: the title, a new step, a repeat count.
- Calendar copies follow their blocks: a drag or a title change updates the event, switching a repeat off leaves one event, and a copy you deleted in Calendar is recreated once, not twice.
- A focus session survives force-quitting the app and keeps its task; the alarm re-arms when you restart the same length.
- Hidden life areas stay out of the pickers and the weekly balance, and unhiding one on the free plan explains itself.
- Many smaller fixes to import, drag ordering and the matrix header after a night in the background.
